[Review] Sadako 3D (2012) : Sadako yang Tidak Seperti 'Sadako' / Sadako who Does Not Look Like A 'Sadako'

Sadako 3D sepertinya bukan kelanjutan The Ring series dan Sadako yang dimaksud berbeda dengan Sadako pada The Ring Series. Jadi, Sadako 3D adalah film original yang tidak memiliki hubungan sama sekali dengan The Ring series dan mereka 'meminjam' nama Sadako yang sudah terkenal sebagai ikon film tersebut. Film ini sangat gencar dalam mempromosikan filmnya tersebut, termasuk dengan bekerja sama dengan Hello Kitty membuat Sadako Hello Kitty yang gambarnya bisa dilihat di bawah. Film ini bercerita tentang Akane Ayakawa, seorang guru yang harus berhadapan dengan masalah yang menimpa muridnya akibat kematian misterius yang diakibatkan video kutukan. Semakin ia terlibat dengan masalah tersebut, semakin terancam pula nyawanya dan orang-orang di sekitarnya.

Sadako 3D is not part of The Ring series. Sadako in The Ring series is different with Sadako in this movie. So, Sadako 3D is an original film that does not have a connection at all with The Ring series. It just uses the name of famous icon from The Ring series. The team seems to promote this film seriously, including creating a new version of Hello Kitty : Sadako Hello Kitty just for this film. This film is about Akane Ayakawa, a teacher whose student is found dead because of  the cursed video. When she starts to find out the case, her life is in danger.

Secara visual, efek 3Dnya lumayan bagus dan terasa 3Dnya, tetapi ada beberapa bagian yang terlalu lebay dan sangat terlihat dibuat dari efek komputer. Efek slow motion pada beberapa juga terkesan norak dan tidak penting. Soundnya di awal sangat kencang dan terasa sangat tegang dan mengagetkan. Seiring berjalannya film ini, soundnya tidak sekencang di awal film. Ada beberapa shot yang diambil dari posisi miring, tetapi tidak memiliki fungsi apa-apa sehingga membuat mata lelah. Banyak hal-hal yang tidak masuk akal, termasuk tidak masuk akal secara film horror. Banyak bagian yang tidak dijelaskan dan tidak terjawab. Termasuk konsep sang hantu, Sadako. Sadako tampak berbeda di beberapa bagian film dan terasa sangat mengganjal. Banyak adegan-adengan yang malah terlihat lucu dibandingkan terlihat seram, seperti hantu yang mengibas rambutnya yang seperti iklan shampoo, efek blower pada Akane yang terlihat seperti di sinetron-sinetron. Ada saat di mana film ini membuat saya berpikir "Sadako 3D itu bukan film horror". Akan tetapi, Sadako masih memiliki momen-momen yang memberikan ketegangan selayaknya film horror lainnya. Jangan langsung keluar begitu film berakhir, ada sepotong clip after credit tidak lama setelah credit awal. Sayangnya, after creditnya tidak penting dan tidak jelas.

The 3D effect is quite good. I can feel the 3D effect that popped out in this film, but there are some parts that are too much. Audience can realize easily that it is made by computer. The slow motion parts also look too much and I feel it is unimportant. The sound is very loud in the beginning, but later the sound is not that loud anymore. Some shots are shot in tilt and that is unimportant. There's no connection with the story. There are too many weird things that are unexplained, questionable and illogical, including in horror film logic 101. The ghost's concept, Sadako is not consistent. She looks differently quite much during this film. There are parts that are more laughable than scary. For the example, the hair movement looks like a shampoo advertisement and the blower effect for Akane looks cheesy. In some parts, I feel Sadako 3D is not a horror film. Nevertheless, it still has some moments that give tense and good suspense. Don't go directly after the movie finishes, there is aftercredit clip, but the clip is not important and weird.

Konsep cerita film ini mirip dengan film Korea, Don't Click (2012). Akan tetapi, Don't Click lebih kuat secara konsep dan memiliki cerita dan ending yang lebih jelas. Film ini tidak sebobrok dan se-epic-fail film Thailand, Dark Flight (2012) yang sering membuat saya tertawa dibanding menegangkan. Entah mengapa film-film horror Jepang yang menggunakan judul-judul yang terlihat seperti sekuel dari film horror Jepang yang terkenal sebelumnya (The Ring dan The Grudge) kehilangan gregetnya dan terasa dipanjang-panjangkan demi meraup untung. Tontonlah jika anda benar-benar dari awal sudah sangat menunggu dan penasaran dengan film ini, yang tidak silahkan skip film ini dari daftar list anda.

The concept of the story is similar with Korean horror film, Don't Click (2012), but Don't Click is stronger in concept and the story is clearer. This film is still better than Thai horror film, Dark Flight (2012) which made me laugh most of the time. I feel Japanese horror films that look like a sequel from famous horror film, such as The Ring and The Grudge are dissapointing. I feel that they just want to get more money instead of making a proper sequel. Watch this movie if only you have been waiting this movie from a long-long time ago and/or you are extremely curious about this movie, but if you don't, you can should skip this movie.
