Apa jadinya bila tiga ikonik komedian bersatu di sebuah film ? Tentunya akan menjadi magnet para penggemar film komedi untuk menontonnya. Ya, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn dan Jonah hill adalah 'modal' terbesar yang dimiliki film ini. Film ini bercerita tentang Evan, seorang warga Glenview yang perfeksionis dan sangat berkontribusi di lingkungannya menyadari adanya ancaman alien di lingkungannya. Ia pun bergegas membentuk sebuah kelompok untuk berpatroli bersama Bob, Franklin dan Jamarcus yang tentunya 'tidak normal'.
What will happen if three iconic comedians act in one movie ? It will attract people to watch this movie and I believe that Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill are the biggest asset of this movie. This movie is about Evan, a Glenview citizen who is perfectionist and contributes a lot to Glenview realize an alien invasion in his town. He directly makes a neighborhood watch with Bob, Franklin and Jamarcus.
Film ini banyak sekali mengandung lelucon yang kasar, jorok dan agak garing. Komedinya bukan berasal dari joke-joke yang cerdas dan fresh, tetapi umpatan-umpatan kasar yang hanya membuat sebagian orang tertawa. Ada juga aksi-aksi bodoh di sini yang berhasil membuat saya tertawa. Film ini terasa agak menyimpang dari yang saya perkirakan di awal. Film ini seharusnya tentang neighborhood watch dan alien invasion, akan tetapi "alien invasion"nya kurang terasa. Film ini lebih didominasi oleh kisah hidup para personelnya. Ya sebenernya agak bisa dimaklumi karena judulnya "The Watch", tetapi tagline dan sinopsisnya selalu tentang "alien invasion". Jalan ceritanya juga agak dipaksakan agar bisa terselesaikan dengan ending yang ada. Terlepas dari kebobrokan secara cerita, film ini mempunyai makna tersendiri dan sesuatu yang ingin disampaikan.
This movie gives a lot of rude, dirty and not-that-funny joke. The comedy is not smart and fresh, most of them come from people's swearing. So, only few audiences laugh. It still has a stupid act from them that made me laugh. This movie should be about the neighborhood watch vs the alien, but the alien part, especially alien invasion part is not strong enough. The personel's life dominates the film instead of alien invasion. It is quite acceptable since the title is "The Watch", not "Alien Invasion", but the synopsis that I read in some different medias are about alien invasion. I feel the story line is forced to to fit the ending, even they must put extra information to get that ending. Nevertheless, this movie still has message and something good to be told through this movie.
Secara keseluruhan, film ini cukup menghibur, terutama bagi anda yang menyukai lelucon kasar dan jorok. Ya, film ini hanya hiburan dan guilty pleasure semata, tidak lebih. Tonton dan tertawalah, tidak usah terlalu peduli dengan ceritanya.
Overall, this movie is quite entertaining, especially for those who likes dirty and rude joke. This is for a guilty pleasure only, not more than that. Just watch and laugh, no need to think hard about the story.
